Job Summary

The Senior Admission Expert (UG) will lead students through their undergraduate admissions journey by developing strategic application plans, guiding profile development, and ensuring alignment with top university expectations. This role emphasizes strategic advisory and mentorship, with a focus on building compelling profiles and managing application processes for high-achieving students. The position also involves mentoring junior team members and contributing to best practices in admissions counseling.

Responsibilities

• Strategy and Planning: Build Reach, Target, and Safety university shortlists using Ambitio’s data tools; advise on country-specific systems such as holistic US applications versus subject-focused UK applications. Manage timelines for standardized tests, essays, portal submissions, documents, and financial aid applications.
• Profile and Narrative Development: Define each student’s core story and positioning; guide students toward impactful extracurricular activities including research, leadership roles, internships, and competitions. Lead brainstorming sessions for essay topics before drafting.
• Application Management: Assist students with applications on platforms such as Common App, UCAS, OUAC, and others. Conduct mock interviews with targeted feedback and coordinate transcripts, Letters of Recommendation (LORs), and financial documentation.
• Client and Parent Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-expectation families, providing data-backed updates and aligning students and parents on university choices and goals.
• Team Contribution: Mentor junior Admission Experts, share best practices, and analyze admission patterns to improve team strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in undergraduate admissions counseling
• Proven track record of helping students gain admission to Ivy League and top-tier universities
• Strong knowledge of global undergraduate admission requirements, evaluation criteria, and university rankings
• Experience handling high-ticket clients and managing high-expectation families
• Analytical skills to assess student profiles, identify strengths, gaps, and risks
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• High ownership, sound judgment, and ability to manage multiple student journeys in a fast-paced environment
• Educational qualifications: Relevant degrees or certifications in counseling or related fields

Preferred Skills

• Counselling certification
• Experience studying abroad
• Familiarity with AI tools used for tracking and administrative tasks
• Leadership qualities and team mentorship experience

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years in undergraduate admissions counseling
• Experience working with high-profile clients and successful admissions to top universities

Environment

• The role is based onsite at Sector 6, HSR Layout, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560068
• Work hours are from 11 am to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday
• The work environment involves direct interaction with students, parents, and team members in a fast-paced, high-stakes setting
