ITOPS/Production Engineer

Job Summary

The ITOPS/Production Engineer will provide hands-on application support and technical expertise to ensure the smooth operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical IT systems. This role involves managing incidents, implementing monitoring solutions, automating processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will work in a fast-paced, ITIL-driven environment, supporting 24x7 operations and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to maintain high availability and performance of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and functional support for applications, managing incidents and ensuring problem eradication.
  • Implement and supervise monitoring systems and parameters to ensure smooth processing according to production plans.
  • Monitor the functional and technical quality of interfaces and transfers between applications.
  • Oversee the condition and performance of application technical components, ensuring functional requirements are met.
  • Verify proper execution of application backups and restoration processes.
  • Orchestrate and manage application releases, maintain documentation, and update operating procedures.
  • Create automation scripts and workflows using Gitlab, Ansible, and DAIR.
  • Deploy updates, patches, and obsolescence fixes to maintain system integrity.
  • Contribute to process improvements, production dashboard construction, and service enhancement actions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on application support experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working within an ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) environment.
  • Proficient in Unix/Linux systems administration and Shell or Python scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, specifically Sybase.
  • Expertise in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Gitlab CI, and DAIR.
  • Experience with monitoring tools, particularly Dynatrace.
  • Strong analytical skills and proven operational excellence in Redhat Linux and Windows server administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, professional, and capable of leading and taking ownership of responsibilities.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Java development.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets, Market Risk, or Credit Risk domains.
  • Experience providing 24x7 support for critical servers, including availability, performance monitoring, incident response, change management, and capacity management.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing tool.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.

Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT operations, production engineering, or application support roles.

Environment

  • Work location: Chennai, India (Client office-based).
  • Work mode: Hybrid.
  • Shift timings: 24x7 rotational shifts preferred.
  • Full-time employment.

Salary

  • Salary range: INR 19,00,000 to 20,00,000 per annum.
