Job Summary

As a Business Manager, you will be responsible for augmenting sales in the territory while adhering to the overall sales process and compliance policies. This role involves strategically developing and qualifying new revenue opportunities while enhancing data-driven supplier relationships. You are expected to work closely with sales teams to drive opportunities for new business and account expansion, leveraging motivation, tenacity, and rigor to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and deliver the value proposition of our solutions to meet individual customer needs.
  • Qualify prospective customers through active listening and probing questions to uncover their fit as per policy and guidelines.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities to fuel the sales pipeline by understanding the competitive landscape.
  • Build and expand new accounts through effective B2B account prospecting strategies and establish a robust contact portfolio.
  • Achieve quotas of qualified opportunities, pipeline attribution, and closed business metrics.
  • Evangelize solutions and present product values tailored to customer needs.
  • Support Account Executives/Account Managers in developing effective account plans through targeted research.
  • Conduct high-level product conversations with senior executives in prospect accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer interactions in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Collaborate on projects to enhance overall team efficiency.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and proactively share best practices within the team.
  • Coach, mentor, and assist in onboarding new team members in partnership with leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 14+ years in a business development role or extensive experience in sales development.
  • Previous P&L responsibility is preferable; however, a solid understanding of business P&L, commercial terms, and Incoterms is essential.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
  • Domain knowledge of the Industrial Automation Industry, including understanding of industry players and their value propositions.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct high-level product conversations with senior executives in prospective accounts.
  • Impeccable customer-facing skills in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
  • Highly motivated, driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys evolving the role.
  • Team player who contributes to team success by sharing best practices and prospecting strategies.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of product portfolio, including Factory and Process Automation.
  • Strong understanding of channel partners, their strengths, and weaknesses.

Experience

  • A minimum of 14 years in business development or sales development roles with direct exposure to the Industrial Automation sector.

Environment

  • The role may entail a blend of in-person meetings with clients and remote work in Chennai and Bangalore, subject to regional requirements and industry practices.
