Job Summary

The Backend Software Development Engineer will play a critical role in building reliable and scalable solutions that power the travel industry. This position focuses on collaborating across teams and contributing to innovative products that enhance the traveler experience.

Responsibilities

• Gather user requirements for new or upgraded software solutions and ensure clarity of needs.
• Design and develop backend solutions following industry standards, including database implementation.
• Collaborate with product managers and support teams to validate products and resolve issues.
• Promote best practices, maintain clear documentation, and optimize software performance.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address system-wide challenges and implement preventive measures.

Qualifications

• Experience: 6-9 years of experience in backend development.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Kotlin, Java, and Spring frameworks.
• Database Knowledge: Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with unit and integration testing (including Test Containers).
• Cloud Proficiency: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
• Message Queues: Experience with message queues such as Apache Kafka, Google PubSub, or RabbitMQ.
• Methodologies: Exposure to Agile methodologies.
• Bonus: Experience in travel or airline technology and familiarity with APIs or airline reservation systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
