Job Summary

The Equity Dealer is responsible for buying, selling, and advising on investment and financial instruments within the equity market. The incumbent will execute and close transactions based on fund manager requirements and assist in managing interest rates, yields, and credit exposures within the portfolio according to prescribed benchmarks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality of market deals while managing market impact and minimizing associated risks.
  • Prevent trading errors and address near errors effectively.
  • Allocate commissions according to targets set by management.
  • Contribute to portfolio performance by executing deals at optimal levels.
  • Manage a high volume of Equity, Debt, and Fixed Income dealings.

  • Market Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of the mutual fund market, including products, processes, key entities, regulations, and market indices.
  • Macroeconomics: Understanding of economic principles, indicators (e.g., inflation), fiscal and monetary policies, and their implications on financial markets.
  • Microeconomics: Proficiency in microeconomic concepts related to production, market structure, and efficiency.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with liquid/money market products, equity markets, and long-term debt products.
  • Equity Analysis: Capability to analyze equity instruments and understand their risks, applications, and key metrics.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing mutual funds per the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
  • Operational Skills: Ability to maintain portfolio sheets, coordinate with brokers and back-office operations, and gather feedback from fund managers.
