Job Title: Senior Chef (Mithai and Farsaan)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Chef specializing in Mithai and Farsaan with more than 4 years of hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen setting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating high quality sweets and snacks and have expertise in both traditional and contemporary Indian desserts and savory snacks. The ideal candidate should be motivated to work in a growing environment and want to contribute across multiple areas, including managing production, quality control, new recipe development, building a kitchen staff team (hiring and training), setting SOPs for the highest standards of hygiene and safety, and other responsibilities.
The Company has a new modern kitchen facility. This is a senior role in a fast-growing organization and we are looking for a Senior Chef that wants to take accountability and ownership of the entire kitchen operations, and grow as the Company grows.
Responsibilities:
- New recipe development:
- Recipe Development and innovation - create new Mithai and Farsaan recipes that align with the existing products, our USP’s, current culinary trends and customer preferences.
- Experiment with flavor profiles, textures, and presentation to introduce unique and appealing products.
- Standardisation:
- Standardize existing recipes to ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation across all batches.
- Standardise cooking processes/ times
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures to streamline the production process.
- Quality control:
- Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials and finished products to uphold the highest standards of quality and freshness.
- Identify and address any issues affecting product quality and taste.
- Training
- Provide training to kitchen staff on recipes, cooking techniques, and hygiene practices.
- Making sure these practices are followed on an everyday basis
- Cost management:
- Work closely with the procurement team to optimize ingredient costs without compromising on quality.
- Monitor, control and make sure it’s accounted for - wastages at every step of production from raw material to preprocessing and to final product.
- Production schedule and management:
- Plan everyday production as per orders. Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including production schedules, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Requirements:
- 4-5 years of experience as a Chef specializing in Mithai and Farsaan.
- Proven track record of creating innovative and successful recipes.
- Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Indian desserts and snacks.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a growing environment and maintaining attention to detail.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification is a plus.
