Strategic Insights and Initiatives Lead - Corporate Strategy

Job Summary

The Strategic Insights and Initiatives Lead will be responsible for delivering strategic insights that inform decision-making processes within the organization. This role involves conducting market analyses, developing performance metrics, and supporting cross-functional initiatives to drive strategic progress and facilitate engagement with key stakeholders. The position aims to enhance the Bank's competitive edge by identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Insights:

    • Conduct market analysis, competitor research, and internal assessments to inform strategy development and strategic decisions.
    • Identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges impacting the Bank's business.
  • Performance Metrics and Monitoring:

    • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure strategic progress.
    • Analyze data and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Initiative Support:

    • Lead select initiatives in large cross-functional strategic projects under the oversight of the Strategy Lead.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives forward.
    • Provide project management support to ensure timely and effective delivery, including tracking actual timelines versus planned timelines and identifying course correction actions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Support the Strategy Lead in presenting strategic updates to senior leadership.
    • Prepare updates for presenting to senior management and the Board on the progress of key strategic initiatives; assist in mid and full-year reviews of the strategy.
  • Strategic Risk Management and Governance:

    • Track and report on Strategic Risk to the Enterprise Risk Management Committee.
    • Support management of governance, compliance, and internal audit issues for the Strategy & Transformation unit.
  • Thought Leadership:

    • Draft thought leadership pieces on key topics in the financial services sector for internal consumption, collaborating with other Strategy team members.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 6+ years of experience in strategy development, management consulting, or banking.
  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
    • Experience with strategy execution and program management.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of financial services industry trends and challenges.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and methodologies.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in strategy development, management consulting, or banking required.
