Job Summary

The Product Owner will act as a critical link between operational challenges and product development, focusing on managing the internal technology stack across fleet operations, driver lifecycle, and finance/collections workflows. This role involves translating business problems into actionable product requirements, managing relationships with third-party vendors, and ensuring that our technology aligns with the organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the product owner for internal tech stack, collaborating with founders and functional leaders.
  • Translate business problems into clear product requirements, Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), and a tech backlog for engineering and vendors.
  • Manage third-party vendors and platforms, overseeing the roadmap, performance, and contracts related to technology partners.
  • Evaluate new vendors, conduct pilots, and create buy-vs-build recommendations with thorough cost/benefit and risk analysis.
  • Define and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with vendors, driving issue resolution and conducting quarterly reviews with established success metrics.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to map critical data sources and outline ingestion methods into our data layer.
  • Identify and rectify gaps in data quality and schema design, ensuring that dashboards and models rely on trustworthy data.
  • Partner with data and business intelligence teams to design self-serve dashboards and reports to facilitate operational decision-making.
  • Analyze repetitive operational workflows to discover opportunities for automation or streamlining using technology.
  • Define and deliver internal tools, workflows, and integrations that reduce manual processes, errors, and turnaround time.
  • Measure impact of automation initiatives through clear, quantitative metrics (e.g., turnaround time, error rates).
  • Build and maintain a 6-12 month technology roadmap aligned with business objectives, prioritizing tasks across diverse needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including discovery, scoping, design, sprint planning, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), rollout, and post-launch analysis.
  • Effectively communicate trade-offs and timelines to leadership, operations, and finance teams.

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of experience in product management or related roles (tech consulting, business analysis, operations technology) with at least 2-3 years in a highly operational or fintech/mobility/logistics environment.
  • Strong technological proficiency, with the ability to engage in discussions about APIs, data models, event flows, and dashboards; coding experience is not necessary but system thinking is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with fleet, telematics, CRM, data management, payment, and mobility platforms.
  • Familiarity with process automation tools and methodologies.
  • Previous exposure to key business metrics within operational environments.
