Job Summary

As the Head of Learning & Development, you will spearhead the L&D vision for our rapid retail expansion within a tech-enabled, hyper-scalable learning ecosystem. Your role as the strategic architect will focus on transforming our current training programs into a structured and scalable learning methodology. By leveraging learning technology, you will upskill our frontline and corporate workforce from 15 to 150+ stores, directly enhancing in-store performance and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Scaling Learning Methodology

    • Architect and implement a highly scalable, blended learning framework (classroom, e-learning, on-the-job) tailored for rapid retail expansion.
    • Develop specialized role-based training modules for Store Managers, Retail Associates (Stylists), and Supply Chain teams to ensure consistent brand customer experience.
    • Establish a continuous feedback loop with Regional Managers and HR to swiftly adapt training materials to market and seasonal trends.
  • Learning Technology Implementation

    • Spearhead the evaluation, implementation, and management of modern Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP).
    • Introduce AI-driven micro-learning, mobile-first learning apps, and digital playbooks for frontline staff.
    • Integrate learning metrics with HR and performance platforms to track career progression and skill development.
  • Assessment & Performance Enhancement

    • Design robust competency mapping and assessment frameworks (e.g., product knowledge, customer service, cross-selling) to measure retail staff proficiency.
    • Track Return on Investment (ROI) of training programs against key retail metrics (e.g., Average Order Value, Customer Satisfaction, Conversion Rates).
    • Identify skill gaps across the store journey and implement targeted performance enhancement interventions.
  • Leadership & Culture Building

    • Instill a high-performance, continuous-learning culture across the brand.
    • Design leadership and development pipelines for Assistant Store Managers anticipated to be promoted to Store Managers.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8-10 years in Learning & Development, with at least 3-4 years in the apparel, fashion retail, or fast-paced D2C/consumer industry.
  • Scaling: Proven track record of scaling L&D initiatives from early-stage expansion to a large, geographically dispersed workforce; experience in retail store expansion is preferred.
  • Tech-Savviness: Hands-on experience in implementing modern LMS platforms, digital assessment tools, and creating mobile-first learning content.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong background in data-backed training evaluation, performance metrics, and learning ROI.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with various learning methodologies and instructional design principles.
  • Previous experience in developing gamified training programs.

Experience

  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience required.

  • Corporate office located in Bengaluru, India, with regional travel involved.
