Job Summary
The Vice President of Institutional Sales is responsible for planning and executing strategies for institutional client accounts. This role involves overseeing sales, nurturing relationships with institutional customers, and aligning business plans with the overall Corporate Sales and Marketing Strategy. The VP will forecast account revenues, assess business performance, and drive growth within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Drive the Institutional Sales Strategy for the respective market, with potential expansion as needed.
- Manage Assets Under Management (AUM) and revenue for the assigned area.
- Provide leadership and support to the sales team, fostering relationship-building and sales growth.
- Liaise with mid and large-sized treasuries/institutional clients to enhance business relationships.
- Develop and maintain existing and new relationships to improve market share.
- Transform the business into a channel-focused sales and marketing structure.
- Cater to existing clients effectively while broadening the base of institutional clients.
- Design and develop strategic plans for revenue growth.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Indian capital markets, with a focus on fixed income markets and interest rates.
- Manage, develop, coach, motivate, and mentor the sales team to enhance their skills and achieve monthly sales targets.
- Devise strategies to maximize client/distributor/partner outreach.
- Build the effectiveness of customer servicing quality and set internal benchmarks.
- Ensure team members are equipped with relevant functional and behavioral competencies regarding product and market positioning.
- Collate market information, analyze competitor activities, and collaborate with the Product & Investment Team to assess business impacts.
- Ensure compliance with risk standards.
Qualifications
- 7-9 years of total institutional sales experience in mutual funds is preferred.
- MBA from a reputed business school or any financial post-graduation.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with experience in managing a winning team.
- Strong networking skills and relationship management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical abilities.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Proficiency in effectively managing teams to achieve assigned goals.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with mutual fund distribution business models.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and data analytics.
- Experience in market prospecting and customer relationship management.
Experience
