Job Summary

Sompo is seeking an experienced GWPC (Guidewire Policy Center) Integration Developer to design and implement integration solutions that align with business requirements. The developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reusable integrations within the Guidewire platform, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards. This role requires strong technical expertise in Guidewire integrations, a solid understanding of insurance industry processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical and business leaders during Guidewire Policy Center implementations and actively participate in the requirements review.
  • Ensure technical design and specifications align with traceable user stories/requirements in accordance with Guidewire and Sompo development best practices.
  • Utilize available Guidewire accelerators to expedite development efforts and promote reuse of proven architectural patterns for integrations or product development.
  • Ensure that delivered code adheres to standards, is G-unit tested, code-reviewed, and meets business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Develop integration solutions including Batch processes, Message Queues, and Event Messaging with internal and external consumers.
  • Leverage Guidewire EDGE APIs to create reusable domain-based API solutions.
  • Establish and execute traceable unit and integration tests, including automated tests as agreed upon.
  • Write code and facilitate peer reviews, ensuring comprehensive testing (unit, integration, end-to-end, and smoke tests) during the continuous integration and deployment process.
  • Support various life-cycle phases during and after implementation, including production support and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong experience and understanding of Guidewire Edge APIs.
    • Minimum of 4+ years in Guidewire PolicyCenter integration development and a total of 5+ years developing web-based Java/J2EE or .NET applications.
    • Advanced knowledge of XML, JSON, and SQL.
    • Experience with transactional, account, and user-management integrations with Guidewire Policy Center and external systems.
    • Expertise in design/developing Rest APIs or Web Services to expose Guidewire functionality.
  • Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of Commercial Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance is preferred.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodology and tooling (TFS, Rally, JIRA, etc.) is desirable.
    • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience leading offshore teams is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Guidewire integration concepts such as Batch Processing, Message Queues, and Event Processing.
  • Certification in Guidewire Policy Center integration.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in the field of software development and integration, specifically with Guidewire Policy Center.

Environment

  • The role is offshore and may involve collaboration with various teams across different locations.
