Job Summary

As the Team Lead in Payroll Accounting, you will be responsible for leading a team focused on the accurate and timely completion of accounting activities within the General Accounting (GA) team. This position ensures compliance with internal guidelines, procedures, and external regulatory requirements while supporting the company's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure monthly Payroll accounting, Payroll related Accruals, Salary disbursements, and Payroll clearing are completed on schedule for all responsible countries.
  • Perform general accounting activities and record financial transactions related to payroll.
  • Conduct investigations and reconciliations of payroll-related accounts regularly for discrepancies.
  • Perform accounting analysis and generate reports to support finance and business leaders facilitating decision-making.
  • Oversee month-end book closing activities.
  • Manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Coordinate with Internal and External Auditors on various issues.
  • Initiate quality improvement initiatives in the Record to Report (R2R) payroll area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is a must.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in general accounting, reporting, and reconciliation, with at least 3-5 years in payroll-related accounting activities.
  • Experience in handling a team.
  • Familiarity with Record to Report (R2R) processes.
  • Flexibility to work different shift timings.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Additional certifications in accounting or finance are preferred.

Experience

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in accounting, with significant expertise in payroll processes.

Environment

  • This role will be based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, and may include a hybrid work model (on-site/remote).
