Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (SDE III) who enjoys solving complex backend problems and taking complete ownership of systems. This role is crucial in designing and building high-performance systems that support our financial technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own scalable backend services and APIs using Java/Spring Boot and/or Golang.
• Build high-performance systems involving financial workflows, data processing, and third-party integrations.
• Design and implement microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code and actively participate in code reviews.
• Own the reliability, monitoring, and observability of the systems you build.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and scalability issues.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership on architecture, estimation, prioritization, and delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Build systems with a strong emphasis on security, reliability, data integrity, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and/or Golang.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and concurrency.
• Experience building and scaling backend systems in production.
• Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, databases, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with fintech, financial services, or other highly regulated environments is a strong plus.
• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup with high ownership and ambiguity.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to identifying risks and technical challenges.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis for databases.
• Familiarity with Kafka/NATS for messaging.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience using GitHub Actions/Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or equivalent.
