Position Title: Database Administrator (DBA) I
Band/ Grade: RXBIN-1
Department: Product / IT
Reports to: Senior Manager, Data Engineering
Location: Hyderabad Office
Job Type: Onsite
Work Hours: Standard office hours with some communication after hours with US
Salary Range: 8 – 13 lakhs pa

Job Summary:
Job duties include understanding the application interaction with the data,
monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues. Ensures database
resilience, availability, recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and capacity
planning requirements. Provides a high degree of coordination between
Infrastructure, QA, and Development teams to ensure effective data
management as a corporate enterprise. Has a willingness to work with
customers of varying levels of technical expertise in a growing, complex
environment.
Duties &Responsibilities:
 Assess database performance – tuning, monitoring, and diagnosing
 Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of
the organization
 Create databases, schemas, tables, views
 Set database parameters or specifications
 Develop performance metrics or standards
 Coordinate project activities with other personnel or departments
 Read technical documents to identify database impact
 Develop detailed project plans as required
 Analyze data to identify data trends
 Assists with data management processes including, maintenance,
monitoring, and development of database applications
Qualifications and Requirements:
 3 years experience in database design, support, and management
 3 years MySQL/Postgres database administration/database development
required
 AWS Aurora and RDS experience
 Ability to create and tune highly complex SQL queries

 Advanced education/training in database design and/or database
management
 One or more certifications in database design and administration
 Knowledge of database sizing and data performance tuning
 Knowledge of scripting language is a plus (Python, Powershell, Ruby, etc)
 Inquisitive personality and willingness to learn business processes and
new technologies.
 Participate in on-call rotation for DB support
 Team player with strong interpersonal skills, can report business impact to
the lay person, and is persuasive in recommending solutions to a technical
audience
