Cloud Security Engineer

Job Summary

The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the security of cloud-based systems and applications. This role involves conducting thorough security assessments, monitoring security incidents, managing security tools, and providing security guidance across various platforms, contributing to the organization's overall risk management and security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests on systems and applications to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation actions.
  • Monitor and analyze security alerts, events, and incidents to promptly detect and respond to threats.
  • Manage and maintain security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
  • Proactively monitor Key Risk Indicators to identify non-compliance and assist in remediation with compensating controls.
  • Serve as the cloud-security and cloud-compliance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for supported teams.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including containment, investigation, and recovery in the event of a security incident.
  • Stay updated with cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to ensure the organization remains secure.
  • Provide vendor due diligence reviews, including SOC2 and vendor risk assessments.
  • Drive changes to improve the overall security posture of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience, with 2 years specifically in Azure Cloud Security.
  • Expert understanding of common information security standards and best practices.
  • Solid experience in security and regulatory compliance standards and frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience securing public cloud workloads in a hybrid corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of security controls, configuration management, and vulnerability management in public cloud settings.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to quickly isolate problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Familiarity with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and security recommendations within it.
  • Educational qualifications such as a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field are preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Azure Cloud Administration or Development experience (Preferred 2 years).
  • Experience in Application Security and Network Security technologies.
  • Mathematical/statistical mindset.
  • Familiarity with Agile and ITIL processes.
  • Proficiency in managing enterprise security tools, including log management, antivirus, intrusion prevention, and application scanning.

Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in security roles, with at least 2 years focused on Azure Cloud Security.
  • Relevant hands-on experience in securing cloud environments and managing security tools.

Environment

  • The role is based in Bangalore, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, or Kochi and offers a hybrid working model.
