Financial Reporting Associate – Ventures

Role purpose
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Reporting Associate to join EQT’s Ventures reporting setup in Bengaluru. The role is designed to strengthen the quality, consistency, and scalability of financial, ESG, and people-related reporting across the Ventures portfolio, while freeing up senior onshore capacity and building a future‑proof reporting model that can gradually transition towards automation.
This position sits at the intersection of financial reporting, data quality, and process development. You will work closely with onshore Business Control, investment teams, acting as a critical first line of structured data extraction, validation, and control.
Key responsibilities
Portfolio reporting & data capture
- Read, interpret, and extract financial, ESG, and HR metrics from portfolio company management and board materials
- Perform structured data input and maintenance in reporting systems (e.g. iLEVEL)
- Ensure consistent coverage across portfolio companies and reporting periods
Data quality & controls
- Execute defined data quality, completeness, and reasonability controls
- Perform trend, variance, and logical consistency checks across reporting periods
- Identify missing, inconsistent, or unclear data and raise structured red flags
Escalation & collaboration
- Escalate identified issues to the onshore Business Control / Investment team with clear documentation
- Support investigation, validation, and resolution of data issues
- Act as a reliable point of contact for recurring reporting-related questions
Process & transformation support
- Control & Support testing and piloting of parsing, automation, and AI‑based reporting solutions
Ad hoc analysis
- Support ad hoc reporting requests and analytical tasks across the Ventures portfolio
- Over time, contribute to cross‑fund or cross‑division reporting initiatives (e.g. LSP, Growth, HCG), subject to prioritisation
About you
You are structured, curious, and comfortable working with large volumes of data. You enjoy turning unstructured information into clean, reliable datasets and take pride in getting the details right. You are confident escalating issues when something does not add up and enjoy working in a control‑heavy, high‑integrity environment.
Desired skills & experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in:
- Audit (Big 4 or similar)
- Financial reporting or accounting
- Data analytics or control‑focused roles
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Experience working with financial statements, KPIs, or management reporting
- Comfort working with structured systems and datasets; experience with iLEVEL or similar tools is a plus
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
