Role : Head – Engineering
Reporting to : Chief Transformation Officer
Place of Posting : Mumbai HO
Geographical Remit : PAN India
Key Responsibilities
Key Deliverables:
- Work with key Stakeholders in defining the key business applications roadmap to deliver on the long term business objectives
- Timely and effective Delivery of key business requirements in an Agile and complaint manner for In-house developed and Core platforms
- Ensure a strong governance structure for development and roll out of applications
- Ensure a robust e enterprise level architecture design for in-house developed and Core Platforms
- Explore New Emerging technologies and develop business specific used cases
- Define the Data and architecture requirements of the Organization and ensure delivery data pipelines for the Analytics team
- Provide support for the entire IT Applications suite
Delivery methodologies.
- Establish technology standards and support various businesses in new product development and existing product enhancements.
- Own and direct the architecture, implementation and execution of an enterprise-wide datawarehouse set up
- Lead planning, management, execution and implementation of site/software projects, inclusive of the day-to-day project management, scope management, issue and risk management, as well as regular status reporting.
- Work closely on the user experience aspects while designing, developing, and deploying scalable technologies that will lead to increased consumer satisfaction.
- Ensuring that systems meet the overall business requirements and standards.
- The Head of Engineering should stay abreast of leading and cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices.
Operations:
- Work closely with CTO on short-term and long-range IT planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.
- Reduction in cost of operations by leveraging the digital shift
- Drive the IT governance framework on New product development/enhancement and release management
- Ensure technology related issues are addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Develop, track and control annual operating capital budgets for application development and IT operations
- Responsible for Vendor Management, Procurement, SLA definition and contract negotiations
People Management:
- Develop and build capabilities in the technology organization over the short term (current year) and the long term.
- Transform the existing team into a highly effective engineering function, including upgrading and reorganizing talent as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Define and improve the architecture of the organization’s technology landscape
- Work with CTO on technology strategy , technology operations and technology compliance and lead digital initiatives
- Drive the enterprise wide Data warehouse strategy and implementation
- Focus on New Emerging Technologies on Enterprise Data warehouse which can support scale and are cost effective
- Effective demand management of users requirements by putting in an effective prioritization framework aligning with business objectives
- Build a future-proof technology organization - Envision the business and operating environment of tomorrow and build capabilities in alignment to those.
- Support business alignment in the context of evolving business needs, and provides a sound, flexible foundation for rapid future growth
- Enable the growth of the organization into newer verticals & business lines
· Maintaining a competitive advantage and leveraging the Digital Ecosystem
Required Experience
- 17- 20 yrs in the Technology function
- Experience in the Financial Services sector – NBFC/Fintech preferred
- Experienced in implementation of large IT Digital transformational projects and providing technology support for new Lines of Businesses / expansion of branches
- Knowledge on Enterprise DatawareHouse Architecture is a must
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies especially AWS preferred
Required Qualification
- Bachelor Degree (Computer Science or Information Technology)
Technical Competencies
- Strong technology experience (web technologies, mobile technologies, enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, microservices, Devops )
- Technologically adept and demonstrate outstanding computer skills. Should possess an innate understanding of data modeling and SQL for scalability and performance as well as a strong JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, and MVC framework.
- The Head of Engineering must also demonstrate an expertise in full stack architecture technologies and be highly familiar with Javascript, Ruby, Rails, RDBMs, and HTML5 as well as knowledge of a variety of programming languages such as Java, Objective C, C, and C++.
