Job Summary

The Packaging Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing Theobroma’s brand strength through effective packaging solutions. This hands-on position entails overseeing end-to-end packaging development, balancing structural integrity with aesthetic appeal, and ensuring efficient packaging solutions that resonate with consumer expectations and enhance delivery experiences.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Packaging Development: Lead the development process from concept to shelf by addressing structure, materials, mechanics, and aesthetics across all product categories.
  • Category Innovation: Drive innovative packaging solutions as Theobroma expands into new demand spaces such as cookies, cakes, chocolates, and gifting, treating packaging as an essential part of brand experience.
  • Delivery & Q-Com Experience: Engineer packaging that maintains product integrity during transportation, optimizing for heat, spillage, and a premium unboxing experience.
  • Vendor Scaling & Network Leadership: Identify, onboard, and manage a reliable vendor network for efficient scaling of packaging solutions, ensuring quick turnaround times and high-quality finished products.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–8 years in packaging development with a proven track record of end-to-end ownership in structural and aesthetic aspects.
  • Industry Background: Experience in food, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), quick-service restaurants (QSR), or premium consumer goods.
  • Skill Set:
    • Strong design sensibility with the ability to partner with designers.
    • Capability to build structural packaging and manage vendor relationships effectively.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills in both design and engineering.
    • Ability to work at scale and maintain a high launch cadence.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in packaging.
  • Experience in packaging for gifting and premium occasions.
  • Knowledge of current trends in consumer packaging design.

Experience

Candidates should have significant experience in packaging development, specifically in roles that demonstrate leadership in both structural and aesthetic packaging solutions.

Environment
