Job Summary
The System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization's systems. This role involves proactive monitoring, maintenance, analysis, and optimization of system performance, along with managing incidents and ensuring compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities

System Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Proactively monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement preventative measures.
- Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including software updates, patching, and configuration changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents and problems in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain accurate system documentation and configuration records.
- Develop and maintain automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement improvements.

System Analysis and Optimization:
- Analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new systems and upgrades.
- Conduct capacity planning and resource utilization analysis.

Incident Management:
- Participate in the incident management process, including incident logging, categorization, prioritization, and resolution.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Security and Compliance:
- Ensure systems comply with security policies and standards.
- Assist in the implementation of security controls and monitoring tools.
- Participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Reporting and Communication:
- Generate regular reports on system performance, availability, and security.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including IT teams, end-users, and management.
- Provide clear and concise documentation of system changes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in systems administration or a related role.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, networking concepts, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with system monitoring and management tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture, services, and deployment models.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.).
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, etc.).
