Job Summary

The ServiceNow Scrum Master will play a crucial role in facilitating Agile processes for ServiceNow development teams. This position is responsible for guiding teams in Agile/Scrum principles, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Java and Python, enabling effective support and communication with development teams.

Responsibilities

• Agile Facilitation:

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospectives) for ServiceNow development teams.
  • Guide the team in adopting and adhering to Agile/Scrum principles and practices.
  • Coach the team on self-organization and cross-functionality.

• Impediment Removal:

  • Actively identify, track, and remove impediments that hinder the team’s progress.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and facilitate resolution with relevant stakeholders.

• Delivery Management:

  • Ensure the team delivers high-quality, incremental, and iterative value within each sprint.
  • Monitor and report on team performance using relevant Agile metrics.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure a well-groomed and prioritized backlog.

• Technical Understanding & Support:

  • Possess a strong understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities and development best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams, particularly concerning Java and Python integrations or custom development within ServiceNow.
  • Understand the technical challenges and dependencies related to Java/Python-based integrations with ServiceNow.

• Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external communication, including stakeholders and business partners.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication of project status, risks, and dependencies.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and promote a lean-Agile mindset.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile development environment, ideally with ServiceNow projects.
  • Experience working with development teams utilizing Java and/or Python for integrations or custom solutions.

• Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow platform administration and development concepts.
  • Solid understanding of Java and/or Python programming concepts and their application in enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Certifications:

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer) are a plus.
