The Head – EHS will lead the complete Environment, Health & Safety function for Dalmia Polypro’s Nashik manufacturing site.
This is a site-level leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for EHS governance, statutory and regulatory compliance, plant safety, environmental compliance, risk management, emergency preparedness, and safety systems.
The individual will work closely with the Site Head and functional HODs to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable plant operations while driving a strong safety-first culture across employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience managing the complete EHS function within a manufacturing plant/site environment, rather than being limited to a specialised safety sub-function.
· Own the overall EHS function for the Nashik manufacturing site.
· Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, standards, systems, and processes.
· Drive a strong safety culture and compliance discipline across the plant.
· Partner with the Site Head and functional HODs on EHS priorities, risks, and improvement initiatives.
· Establish and monitor key EHS performance indicators.
· Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and statutory requirements.
· Maintain required EHS documentation, licences, records, permits, and compliance systems.
· Coordinate statutory inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions.
· Identify compliance gaps and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
· Ensure appropriate documentation and reporting of EHS performance.
· Oversee EHS across manufacturing operations, plant infrastructure, utilities, maintenance activities, and facilities.
· Identify operational hazards and conduct risk assessments and safety reviews.
· Develop and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
· Ensure safe work practices and procedures are followed across plant operations.
· Drive contractor and workplace safety standards.
· Strengthen site-level safety management systems, SOPs, work permits, and emergency preparedness.
· Drive incident prevention, investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
· Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
· Monitor safety performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
· Ensure effective emergency response and preparedness systems are in place.
· Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and requirements.
· Monitor environmental risks associated with manufacturing operations.
· Drive initiatives related to resource efficiency, waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainable plant operations.
· Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and reduce operational risks.
· Support the organisation’s broader sustainability objectives.
· Work closely with the Site Head, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and other functional HODs.
· Lead, develop, and strengthen the site EHS team.
· Build ownership of safety among employees, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
· Conduct EHS awareness, training, and capability-building initiatives.
· Present key EHS risks, compliance status, incidents, and improvement plans to senior leadership.
· 10+ years of overall EHS experience.
· Strong experience in a manufacturing plant/site environment is mandatory.
· Candidates from any manufacturing industry may be considered.
· Proven experience managing the complete EHS function at a plant/site level.
· Strong experience in statutory compliance, plant safety, risk management, and environmental compliance.
· Experience managing contractor safety and workplace safety will be preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related discipline.
· Relevant EHS certifications will be an advantage.
· Strong expertise in Plant EHS, Safety & Risk Management.
· Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance.
· Experience in safety audits, incident investigation, and emergency preparedness.
· Understanding of environmental compliance and sustainable manufacturing practices.
· Strong stakeholder and team-management capabilities.
· Hands-on, ownership-driven and execution-oriented approach.
· Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Ability to build and sustain a proactive safety-first culture.
