Job Summary
The Lead - General Insurance will spearhead the General Insurance (GI) advisory practice for one of India's leading multi-family offices and wealth management firms. The role involves advising high-net-worth individuals (HNI), ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNI), family offices, and corporate clients on comprehensive risk management and insurance solutions. The incumbent will be responsible for building and scaling the GI vertical across Mumbai and Delhi, driving revenue growth, managing insurer relationships, and leading a high-performing advisory team to ensure client satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and scale the General Insurance advisory practice across Mumbai and Delhi.
- Advise HNI/UHNI clients, family offices, and corporate clients on comprehensive risk management and insurance solutions.
- Design and execute insurance placement strategies across all commercial and retail GI lines, including property, marine, liability, D&O, engineering, health & benefits, and specialty lines.
- Own revenue growth, profitability, and client retention for the GI portfolio.
- Manage relationships with insurers and reinsurers, leading RFP processes, negotiations, and placement activities.
- Drive cross-sell and up-sell of GI solutions within the firm's wealth management client base.
- Mentor, develop, and lead a team of relationship and account managers.
- Ensure IRDAI regulatory compliance and adherence to broking best practices.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in general insurance broking or risk advisory, including significant leadership roles.
- Deep expertise across commercial and retail GI lines.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management and handling large-account client relationships.
- Demonstrated success in business development, revenue growth, and managing marquee clients.
- Certified Insurance Broker; certification from the Insurance Institute of India strongly preferred.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Strong understanding of the HNI/UHNI and corporate risk landscape.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Environment

Salary
INR 40-50 LPA (Cost to Company), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
