Android OS Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Android OS Engineer to join our dynamic team at Vrize. This role focuses on developing native Android applications and optimizing the Android operating system for performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in delivering high-quality user experiences and integrating no-code/low-code solutions into our applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance, scalable native Android applications.
• Customize and optimize Android OS for performance improvements and memory efficiency.
• Analyze and optimize app memory allocation and resource usage to ensure efficient app behavior.
• Leverage no-code/low-code platforms to build and deploy functional Android apps quickly.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver outstanding user experiences.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and application crashes.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to enhance code quality and team knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in developing native Android applications.
• Strong understanding of Android OS internals and memory management techniques.
• Familiarity with no-code/low-code platforms for app creation.
• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages.
• Solid understanding of Android SDK and associated development tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cross-platform development frameworks (e.g., Flutter, React Native).
• Knowledge of cloud services and backend integration for mobile applications.
• Understanding of mobile application security practices.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Android application development and relevant experience in optimizing Android OS performance.

Environment

The work setting is typically remote or hybrid, accommodating flexible work arrangements. Team members may occasionally need to collaborate in a shared office space for team meetings.
