Job Summary

The Data Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of finance master data within the organization. This role involves maintaining data records, performing audits, ensuring data governance policies are followed, and providing insights through data reporting and analysis. The Specialist will support cross-functional teams to enhance data integration and drive process improvements related to finance master data management.

Responsibilities

  • Data Maintenance: Update and maintain finance master data records (Chart of accounts, Profit Centers, and Cost Centers) in the database as per ABB policy.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Conduct regular data audits and validations to guarantee the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of finance master data, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies or errors.
  • Data Governance: Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures related to finance master data as established by ABB.
  • Data Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to synchronize and integrate finance master data across various systems and platforms.
  • Data Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports and derive insights on finance master data metrics, trends, and patterns to support informed decision-making processes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of finance master data management processes, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
  • Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training materials and documentation pertaining to finance master data management processes and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in database management and data governance principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with data integration tools and processes.
  • Experience with data reporting and analytical software.
  • Proven ability to propose process improvements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in finance-related roles or data management positions.
