Job Summary

The Senior QA Automation Lead will take full ownership of building and scaling the QA function from scratch. This role focuses on driving a quality-first culture and ensuring the product’s reliability and performance as the organization scales. The candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in automation frameworks and proven leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Define, set up, and lead the end-to-end QA process from scratch, including strategy, tools, frameworks, and workflows.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing QA team to deliver world-class testing coverage and execution.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web and mobile applications using tools such as Selenium and Cypress.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to align on quality goals.
• Drive automation coverage across functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Integrate automated testing with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure fast and reliable releases.
• Lead defect management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay ahead of industry best practices, QA trends, and emerging automation tools to evolve the testing strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on QA automation experience, including 2+ years of leadership in QA teams.
• Proven experience in setting up QA processes and frameworks from scratch.
• Strong expertise in automation tools like Selenium and Cypress (experience with Playwright is a plus).
• Solid programming/scripting knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with API automation testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Deep understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
