Job Description
Position Title: Compliance head
• The Compliance Head will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the company's compliance with all license agreement requirements, regulations, and internal policies related to the apparel industry in India.
• They will work closely with various departments to implement and maintain effective compliance policies and procedures, and will provide guidance and training to employees on compliance issues.
• The Compliance Head will also be responsible for monitoring and assessing compliance risks, and for reporting to senior management on the company's compliance status.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement and maintain effective compliance policies and procedures for the company.
• Conduct regular compliance assessments and audits to ensure that the company is adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, license requirements and standards.
• Monitor and assess compliance risks, and develop and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Work closely with other departments (e.g. legal, finance, operations, brands, business development) to ensure that compliance is integrated into all aspects of the company's operations.
• Report regularly to senior management on the company's compliance status, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. law, business, accounting).
• At least 10-15 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory role, preferably in the apparel industry. Experience in leading a team is a bonus.
• Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to the apparel industry in India.
• Prior experience managing a team would be a bonus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
• Experience in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
