Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Vendor Manager with 8+ years of expertise in vendor management, procurement, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing vendor strategies, driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and building long-term partnerships that align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end vendor lifecycle including vendor selection, onboarding, performance evaluation, and relationship management.
- Develop and execute vendor management strategies to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and service excellence.
- Negotiate contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), pricing, and commercial terms with vendors while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with procurement, legal, finance, and business teams to finalize contracts and maintain audit readiness.
- Drive vendor performance reviews through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), scorecards, and regular governance meetings.
- Mitigate risks by conducting due diligence, compliance checks, and vendor audits.
- Ensure timely resolution of vendor-related issues and disputes.
- Maintain strong vendor databases and track performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Support business units in identifying new vendors and evaluating market opportunities.
- Implement vendor cost optimization initiatives while ensuring quality and delivery standards.
- Stay updated with market trends, supplier innovations, and regulatory frameworks related to vendor management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Vendor Management, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing.
- Strong experience in contract negotiations, supplier governance, and risk management.
- Solid knowledge of procurement processes, compliance frameworks, and vendor governance models.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and vendor management tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, financial acumen, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in IT/ITES, Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), or Shared Services environments.
- Exposure to global vendor management practices and multi-location supplier handling.
- Certification in CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), PMP (Project Management Professional), Six Sigma, or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
