Job Summary

The VP of Strategic Finance & Corporate Development will serve as a key partner to the CFO, providing high-level financial leadership and strategic insights. This role will significantly impact the organization by overseeing financial planning, working capital strategies, and corporate development initiatives. The VP will also build and lead a formidable finance team, shaping the long-term capability and culture of the function.

Responsibilities

• Working Capital Optimisation

  • Oversee end-to-end management of working capital including receivables, payables, inventory financing, and credit cycles.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and sales teams to optimize the cash conversion cycle.
  • Create dynamic working capital models reflecting agricultural seasonality and credit patterns.
  • Design dashboards to monitor working capital stress and implement supply chain financing programs.

• Business Research, Analysis & Strategic Planning

  • Act as the analytical engine for the leadership team, translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long-range planning process.
  • Develop financial models for new business lines, geographies, and product categories.
  • Conduct market research impacting DeHaat's business performance.
  • Track KPIs and improve FP&A tools for enhanced reporting accuracy.

• Board & Investor Interaction

  • Prepare detailed board and investor reports to effectively communicate DeHaat’s financial performance.
  • Own the Management Information Systems (MIS) framework, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reports.
  • Manage the investor reporting calendar and support fundraising processes.

• Mergers, Acquisitions & Corporate Development

  • Support M&A evaluations, including target identification and valuation modeling.
  • Manage financial due diligence for potential acquisitions.
  • Build integration financial models and evaluate strategic partnerships for financial viability.

Qualifications

• Educational Background:

  • MBA (Finance) from a Tier-1 institution or Chartered Accountant (CA).

• Experience:

  • 10 - 15 years in Business Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance, or Management Consulting, with at least 4 - 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and investor-facing materials.

• Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Google Slides, and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and understanding of treasury operations and foreign exchange management.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in fundraising, M&A financial due diligence, or navigating cross-border trade is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the agricultural sector, rural economics, and technology applications in agriculture.

Experience

10 - 15 years of relevant experience in Business Finance or related fields, with a progressive career in either high-growth startups, investment banking, or management consulting.

Environment

This role is based in Gurgaon and requires some travel as needed. The working environment is fast-paced, driven by impact, and centered around supporting a diverse agricultural landscape.
