Mainframe z/Linux

Job Summary

The Mainframe z/Linux role is essential for ensuring the stability and performance of Linux environments within the organization. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor and provide production support for Linux environments.
  • Install and configure Linux environments in both stand-alone and virtualized settings.
  • Add and modify Linux configurations and services as needed.
  • Maintain Linux configurations and perform operational and maintenance activities as required by the customer.
  • Analyze Linux logs to identify production issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Create and maintain user directories.
  • Apply maintenance, migration, and upgrades to the Linux systems.

Qualifications

  • More than 4 years of Linux Administration experience, preferably with SuSE or Redhat Linux.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMS, REXX, and Pipes.
  • Expertise in risk mitigation technologies such as RACF, encryption, disaster recovery, and high availability.
  • Experience configuring z/VM for Linux on IBM z Systems.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team collaboration, and time management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with additional Linux distributions and tools.
  • Knowledge of automation tools for system management.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Linux Administration.

Environment

  • Hybrid work mode, combining both remote and in-office work settings.

Salary

  • Estimated salary range: 3,500,000.
