Management Accounting_ Sr. Expert
Job Summary
The Sr. Expert - Management Accounting at Bayer is responsible for the complete, timely, and qualitative execution of accounting operations activities within their scope. This role ensures the reliability of financial statements in accordance with group standards and subgroup reporting requirements. The position involves implementing best practices in relevant processes and ensuring SAP system design aligns with group and subgroup standards to meet both local and global business steering requirements.
Responsibilities
- Execute accounting operations activities timely and completely as defined by the supervisor.
- Ensure data quality and SAP system setup comply with group standards and divisional requirements, supporting local business steering needs.
- Support sites on Product Accounting and Inventory Valuation topics, including clarifications on variances of production orders and purchase prices.
- Assist legal entities with process order settlements, variance follow-ups, tariff and activity price adjustments, and defining normal capacity and fixed/variable cost splits.
- Identify net realizable value, verify product accounting closing results, and provide business input.
- Support inventory physical stock taking and follow up on inventory differences.
- Analyze the Income Statement within the area of responsibility.
- Support external and internal audits and perform Internal Control System (ICS) controls in the area of expertise.
- Contribute to the overall closing process by reviewing results, following up with divisions and functions, and performing manual postings as needed.
- Initiate and support optimization projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Monitor and actively contribute to achieving service levels of accounting in collaboration with Shared Service Center Delivery Network (SSCDN).
Qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent field.
- At least 6 years of professional experience in General Accounting, Product Costing, Financial Analysis, or related areas.
- Proficient in SAP ERP Financial Accounting/Controlling (FI/CO) module with a strong understanding of interfaces with other modules.
- Fundamental knowledge of global accounting and controlling processes and their intersections with other business processes.
- Deep understanding of subgroup value flows and controlling logic.
- Strong communication skills and analytical thinking.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; additional languages are a plus.
- Preferred: Chartered Accountant and/or Cost Accountant certification.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Bayer Group accounting and reporting requirements, especially Product Accounting/Inventory Valuation (PA/IV) and/or Value Flow Management (VFM) in accordance with Bayer Cost Accounting Directive.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Bayer Group accounting and reporting standards.
- Familiarity with internal control systems and audit processes.
- Strong problem-solving and process optimization capabilities.
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, product costing, or financial analysis.
Environment
- Work location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
- Work mode: Hybrid (combination of remote and in-office work).
- Full-time position.
Salary
- Salary range: INR 8,00,000 to 10,00,000 per annum.
