Job Summary

The Equity Assistant Fund Manager is responsible for supporting the Fund Manager in the research, analysis, and management of equity investment portfolios. This role serves as a crucial stepping stone for individuals aspiring to become fund managers, and it requires a strong work ethic, analytical mindset, and a passion for financial markets.

Responsibilities

  • Equity Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth research on potential investment opportunities across various sectors and industries, analyzing company financials, regulatory filings, and competitor landscapes.
    • Utilize fundamental and technical analysis techniques to evaluate potential risks and returns of various stocks.
    • Stay updated on current market trends, economic data, and news impacting investment decisions.
    • Prepare insightful research reports and presentations to support the Fund Manager's investment decisions.
  • Portfolio Management and Monitoring:

    • Assist in constructing and managing equity portfolios aligned with the fund's investment objectives and risk tolerance.
    • Monitor portfolio performance, track key metrics, and identify potential risks or opportunities.
    • Prepare regular reports for the Fund Manager and senior management regarding portfolio performance and investment rationale.
  • Other Duties:

    • Assist with client presentations and communication.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices.
    • Contribute to team research efforts and investment strategy discussions.
    • Participate in trade execution and order management activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification:

    • MBA (Finance), Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or a Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Management, or equivalent qualification.
  • Key Skills:

    • 4-6 years of relevant experience in Asset Management, Mutual Funds, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Alternate Investment Funds (AIF), Wealth Management, Family Office, Investment Advisory, or Offshore Fund Management.
    • Proven experience in equity research and portfolio management.
    • Strong understanding of global markets, offshore investment structures, and capital market products.
    • Experience interacting with institutional investors and investment committees is preferred.

  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and investment analysis software.

Experience

  • 4-6 years in relevant roles within the asset management or financial services industry.
