Job Description
Key Responsibilities: 1. Transportation Management • Coordinate and manage the day-to-day transportation of materials across the designated region. • Plan and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery to the correct destinations. • Optimize routes and load planning to improve delivery efficiency and reduce transportation costs. 2. Vendor & Carrier Coordination • Liaise with third-party logistics providers, transporters, and vendors to ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods. • Monitor carrier performance and address any delays or issues that impact delivery timelines. • Negotiate with logistics vendors for cost-effective services and improve delivery reliability. 3. Shipment Tracking & Documentation • Track shipments and update internal systems with real-time status reports. • Ensure all shipping documents, including invoices, delivery notes, and bills of lading, are accurate and properly maintained. • Prepare and maintain logistics reports, including delivery performance, cost analysis, and inventory movement. 4. Inventory Coordination • Work closely with inventory and warehousing teams to ensure the timely dispatch and receipt of goods. • Coordinate regional stock transfers to meet demand across various hubs and distribution centres. • Assist in inventory reconciliation and ensure accurate stock levels across the regional supply chain. 5. Cost Control & Efficiency • Monitor transportation and logistics costs, and work with the Regional Logistics Manager to implement cost-saving initiatives. • Identify inefficiencies in the logistics network and suggest process improvements to optimize logistics operations. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Collaborate with procurement, warehousing, distribution, and finance teams to ensure smooth flow of materials. • Support regional supply chain planning by providing input on logistics capacity and requirements. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in logistics coordination, supply chain, or transportation management. • Proficiency in logistics management software, ERP systems, and shipment tracking tools. Preferred Qualifications: • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication skills for vendor and cross-functional team coordination. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of regional transportation regulations and safety protocols.
