Murex Test Engineer

Job Summary

The Murex Test Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of Murex applications across Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office streams. This role is focused on collaborating with business users to gather requirements, preparing detailed test cases, and executing various testing cycles. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality releases while managing defect cycles effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business users to gather functional requirements and prepare detailed test cases for Murex Front Office (FO), Middle Office (MO), and Back Office (BO) streams.
  • Design and execute Functional Integration Testing (FIT), Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, ensuring smooth sign-offs for user stories.
  • Run and monitor End of Day (EOD) batches in Murex testing environments, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for resolution.
  • Prepare automation test suites (advantageous if skilled in Onyx) and execute across all release cycles.
  • Deliver comprehensive test closure reports with evidence for every release.
  • Follow structured defect management cycles and ensure seamless release quality.

Qualifications

  • 9+ years of consistent Murex implementation experience (Murex version 3.1 preferred).
  • Experience in greenfield implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Strong functional understanding of Treasury and Fixed Income Products.
  • Hands-on testing expertise across Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Collateral, and Interfaces.
  • Strong test case writing and acceptance criteria definition skills.
  • Experience with manual testing (mandatory) and automation testing (Onyx is a plus).
  • Exposure to Back Office, Market Risk, and Credit Risk is a strong advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks, particularly in relation to Murex testing environments.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements in the financial services industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience

  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in Murex testing and implementation.
