Job Summary

The Head of Accounts & Finance will serve as a senior finance leader responsible for independently managing and establishing the complete finance and accounts function for a new Wealth/Asset Management business. This role involves overseeing financial governance, cash flow management, controllership, accounting, taxation, and finance operations. The successful candidate will contribute to building a strong financial foundation, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth.

Responsibilities

• Finance & Accounts Leadership

  • Independently lead and manage the entire Finance & Accounts function.
  • Oversee controllership, accounting, taxation, and finance operations.
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and accounting.
  • Develop and implement a robust finance function for the new business.

• Cash Flow & Fund Movement Management

  • Own and manage all cash flows and fund movements across the organization.
  • Ensure seamless inflows and outflows of funds.
  • Monitor liquidity and cash positions to support smooth business operations.
  • Establish controls and processes for fund movement and cash management.

• Treasury & Cash Management

  • Oversee treasury activities related to cash flow management.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage cash flows effectively.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain adequate liquidity levels.

• Finance Processes, Controls & Governance

  • Establish and implement finance processes, systems, and controls.
  • Develop reporting frameworks, policies, and governance mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, taxation, and financial regulations.
  • Strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency.

• Management Reporting & Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with management on financial reporting and strategic finance matters.
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of the business’s financial performance.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Finance & Accounts leadership, preferably within Asset Management, Wealth Management, AMC, or Financial Services.
• Strong understanding of financial governance, controllership, and compliance.
• Expertise in cash flow management, treasury operations, and fund movement.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, accounting standards, and taxation.
• Experience in establishing finance processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Educational qualifications such as CA (Chartered Accountant), MBA in Finance, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
