Systems Engineer-Azure & Citrix

Job Summary

The Systems Engineer-Azure & Citrix will be responsible for managing and supporting Azure Cloud environments, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Citrix technologies including XenApp, XenDesktop, and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD). This role requires expertise in infrastructure troubleshooting, virtualization, and endpoint technologies to ensure seamless operation and support of virtual desktop infrastructure and related services. The engineer will collaborate with various infrastructure and application support teams to resolve issues and optimize system performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Azure Cloud Desktop and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) hosting environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot Citrix technologies including web interface, storefront, Director, Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA), and Receiver.
• Handle Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) environments.
• Manage virtual machines hosted on VMware ESX environments.
• Configure and manage ICA policies in XenApp and XenDesktop.
• Analyze and resolve infrastructure-related issues, driving root cause analysis and resolution.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and application support teams to mitigate and resolve technical issues.
• Utilize PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Azure Cloud technologies, specifically Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• In-depth knowledge of Citrix technologies: web interface, storefront, Director, VDA, Receiver, XenApp, XenDesktop, and CVAD.
• Experience with VMware ESX virtualization platform.
• Familiarity with Citrix NetScaler, AppSense, and Windows endpoint technologies (both thin and thick clients).
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting for infrastructure management.
• Basic understanding of performance monitoring tools such as Splunk and Kibana.
• Knowledge of networking and storage concepts is advantageous.
• Familiarity with application virtualization technologies like App-V and AppDNA.
• Educational qualification: Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Citrix Cloud and AWS Workspaces.
• Advanced skills in performance monitoring tools like Splunk and Kibana.
• Additional knowledge of networking and storage infrastructure.
• Experience with AppSense and Citrix NetScaler technologies.

Experience

• Proven experience working with Azure Cloud Desktop and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) technologies.
• Hands-on experience managing Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and CVAD environments.
• Experience in managing virtual machines in VMware ESX environments.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in infrastructure and endpoint technologies.
• Experience coordinating with multiple support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
