Job Summary
The DGM (Electrical) position is responsible for overseeing the design and execution of electrical and extra-low voltage (ELV) systems for residential and commercial projects. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that all projects comply with industry standards, local regulations, and project specifications while optimizing for energy efficiency and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a complete understanding of local and international design standards, codes, and local authority requirements.
- Conduct design calculations such as electrical load estimation, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations, as well as equipment selection.
- Review and approve Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) designs, design basis reports (DBR), and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, structural engineers, BIM teams, and consultants to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
- Carry out MEP infrastructure design, assists in developing standard operating procedures, and offer value engineering suggestions on electrical design requirements.
- Optimize MEP designs for energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness and improve design/material specifications for cost optimization.
- Conduct periodic site visits to review quality installations and ensure design implementation.
- Manage coordination efforts with stakeholders and ensure timely approvals and follow-ups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering.
- Extensive experience in design and execution of electrical and ELV systems for residential and commercial projects.
- Considerable experience working with Grade A real estate developers.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting systems, and other related services.
- Proficiency in MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, team management, and mentoring skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience and knowledge in HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and net-zero initiatives.
Experience
- Several years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, specifically with MEP systems within residential and commercial projects.
