Job Summary

The Operations Specialist - Management Accounting is responsible for the complete, timely, and qualitative execution of Accounting Operations activities. This role contributes to the reliability of financial statements in accordance with group standards and subgroup reporting requirements. The position involves the implementation of best practices in relevant processes and ensuring the SAP system design aligns with both group and subgroup standards to meet business steering requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Accounting Operations activities timely and completely, as defined by the supervisor.
  • Ensure data quality and SAP system setup adheres to group standards and divisional requirements.
  • Collaborate with business sectors (Controlling, Sales & Marketing, Production) for clarification of business requirements and necessary changes in master data.
  • Support the closing process for legal entities by reviewing results and following up with relevant divisions and functions.
  • Perform manual postings where required and create tickets for new or adjusted master data.
  • Conduct Service Accounting activities, including project invoicing and asset sale invoicing.
  • Provide specialized ad hoc and project-specific support related to the area of expertise.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in General Accounting, Product Costing, Financial Analysis, or similar fields.
  • Proficient in SAP ERP FI/CO module with knowledge of interfaces with other modules.
  • Strong understanding of global accounting and controlling processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of subgroup value flows and controlling logic.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; additional languages are appreciated.
  • Preferred: Chartered Accountant and/or Cost Accountant.
  • Knowledge of Bayer Group accounting and reporting requirements is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with the Bayer Cost Accounting Directive, especially PA/IV and/or VFM.

Experience

  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in accounting and finance.
