Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled DevOps professional with a strong background in Linux/Unix administration and cloud infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automation, orchestration tools, and containerization technologies, along with a solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring systems. This role involves architecting, designing, and implementing server environments from development through production, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of complex web applications and microservices. The DevOps engineer will manage multiple priorities including projects, business-as-usual (BAU) tasks, and product roadmap initiatives in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement server environments across development, staging, and production.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform, Packer, and Ansible.
- Manage containerization and orchestration using Docker.
- Deploy and troubleshoot complex web applications and microservices involving databases, caching layers, external APIs, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
- Implement system hardening and maintain information security best practices.
- Monitor application and infrastructure performance using tools like AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and others.
- Manage change and version control processes effectively.
- Design and implement disaster recovery, load balancing, and high availability solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance project delivery, BAU operations, and product roadmap priorities.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Linux/Unix administration.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency with automation and orchestration tools: Terraform, Packer, Ansible.
- Experience with Docker containerization.
- Programming or scripting skills in one or more of Perl, Python, Go, or Shell scripting.
- Working knowledge of key/value stores and database technologies, including both SQL and NoSQL.
- Familiarity with application monitoring and content delivery systems such as Redis, NewRelic, Akamai, Fastly/Varnish, ELK stack, and Grafana.
- Basic understanding of networking and infrastructure setup in web hosting and delivery environments.
- Knowledge of system hardening and information security principles.
- Experience with change and version management.
- Strong accountability and ownership mindset.
- Ability to build secure cloud environments following industry best practices.
- Broad experience in web operations, from server provisioning automation to cloud computing.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with disaster recovery, load balancing, and designing for high availability.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience working with Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) or FinTech clients.
Experience
- Relevant experience in Linux/Unix administration, cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Proven track record in deploying and managing complex web applications and microservices.
- Experience managing multiple priorities including projects, BAU work, and product roadmaps.
