Purpose

The role holder will be responsible for heading the legal & compliance function and supporting the organization on all legal matters.

Role and responsibilities
Draft/vet all agreements and negotiate the legal documentation across partners and contracts Institutionalize the Legal document and process digitization. Handling dispute resolution, litigations and crisis management including advising the business on all disputes and potential disputes. Coordination for real estate contracts including conducting legal due diligence, finalization of the agreements/documentations, etc. Ensuring all legal aspects are handled in a swift and efficient manner General legal advisory and end to end legal support. Risk management & mitigation Leads and guides team in a high growth oriented organization. Managing legal notices, reply and other legal correspondences. Active Participation in Acquisition Process and Lead Post Merger Integration for Legal and Secretarial Domain Steer compliance guidelines and controls for all regulatory requirements including Companies Act, etc. Ensuring that board resolutions and other management decisions are taken considering the processes mentioned under Articles – investor reserved matters

Experience and Qualification

Essential

12-15 years of relevant experience
Graduate / Post Graduate in Law from a reputed institute with a good academic record
Proven experience as a Corporate Attorney, Corporate Lawyer, Legal Counsel or similar position
Experience with a lending company or in the NBFC/BFSI sector
Experience of contract management and litigation
Excellent knowledge of all the corporate laws including Companies Act, other compliance, etc.
Highly driven and motivated individual with ability to get hands-on where required
Ability to manage the performance of a team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Outstanding drafting skills and strong negotiation skills
