Job Summary

We are seeking a Java Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on the Airops Fast Data platform. This role emphasizes DevOps practices and aims to foster a collaborative and innovative team culture while ensuring the successful execution and delivery of software projects.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the growth, industrialization, and DevOps of the Airops Fast Data platform.
• Develop event-driven data interfaces between Airops products, the data platform, and third-party applications or middleware, within a Microsoft Azure environment.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Java full stack developers, Quality Analysts, and Business Analysts. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, with accountability for performance and results.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Define a vision for the team in line with department strategy and operational challenges; translate it into actionable plans with a high level of autonomy.
• Implement and promote Agile methodologies within the team; facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Work closely with Product Managers to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and align development efforts with business goals.
• Provide technical direction and support to the development team; ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment are followed.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality software by implementing robust testing and code review processes.
• Encourage continuous learning and improvement within the team; stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Java developer with expertise in Java Quarkus or Java Spring Boot (Java version 21).
• Proficiency in developing in a cloud environment (preferably Microsoft Azure or AWS).
• Experience with event streaming infrastructure (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hub).
• Familiarity with DevOps infrastructure and components, including Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Helm charts.
• Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Solid experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
• Strong communication skills to maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with best practices in software development, testing, and deployment processes.
• Relevant certifications in Java development, Cloud technologies, or Agile methodologies.

Experience

• 11 to 16 years of extensive Java development experience, with previous experience in a managerial or similar leadership position preferred.
