Senior Retail Designer | Scrabble
Job Description
Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Retail Designer to shape, design, and deliver immersive retail environments across The Sleep Company’s expanding national footprint. This role goes beyond visual styling. You will be responsible for end-to-end retail design— from concept to execution—creating 2D and 3D design solutions for POP/POS, window displays, façades, spatial layouts, hero product showcases, brand walls, and in-store experiences. You will work closely with the in-house design team, fabrication partners, and vendors to translate the brand’s visual language into scalable, functional, and high-impact physical retail experiences, while actively supervising execution on ground. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands materials, fabrication, technology integration, and customer behaviour, and can bridge creative ambition with operational reality. Key Responsibilities Retail Design & Spatial Experience Conceptualise and design retail environments and spatial systems across formats— flagship, large format, and standard stores. Create 2D layouts and 3D visualisations for: POP / POS systems Window displays Store façades Brand walls Hero product and technology-led displays In-store zoning and spatial storytelling Ensure designs enhance navigation, engagement, education, and conversion. Brand Translation & Design Language Work closely with the in-house Brand and Design teams to uplift and evolve the brand’s visual design language. Translate brand guidelines into physical retail expressions that are consistent yet adaptable across locations. Ensure every retail touchpoint reflects a cohesive, premium, and future-forward brand experience. Material, Fabrication & Execution Ownership Lead material selection with a strong understanding of retail-grade finishes, durability, lighting, print, and fabrication techniques. Develop designs that are production-ready, cost-aware, and scalable. Supervise prototyping, fabrication, installation, and on-site execution to ensure quality and intent are met. Conduct design feasibility checks and value engineering where required. Technology & Interactive Experiences Incorporate technology-led innovations into retail design—interactive screens, motion, sensors, gamified experiences, or smart product education tools. Collaborate with tech and vendor partners to design engaging, intuitive, and meaningful in-store interactions. Use technology to simplify product education and elevate customer experience—not distract from it. Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration Build and manage a strong vendor and fabrication network across materials, technology, and execution partners. Skills & Capabilities Strong retail design and spatial thinking mindset. Proven expertise in 2D and 3D design for physical environments.
