Medical Advisor – Diabetes Care
Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Advisor – Diabetes Care to provide medical and scientific leadership, strategic inputs, and cross-functional support in a highly competitive and complex market environment. This role involves driving medical affairs activities, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring scientific excellence in both marketed products and pipeline development.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical and scientific support to business units, clinical research, pharmacovigilance, and medical information teams.
- Lead medical input into integrated brand plans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
- Review and approve promotional material in line with global standard operating procedures (SOPs) and local regulatory requirements.
- Support marketing teams by translating scientific data into actionable strategies and providing training for sales and marketing colleagues.
- Manage and support local study programs (Non-Interventional Studies (NIS), Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS), and Observational Studies (OS)) in compliance with internal and external regulations; contribute to global clinical development as the local medical expert.
- Respond to scientific queries from physicians, regulatory authorities, and patients in a credible and transparent manner.
- Build and maintain relationships with thought leaders, medical societies, and associations; organize and contribute to advisory boards, congresses, and symposia.
- Monitor competitor medical and marketing activities, focusing on both innovator and generic products in the diabetes space.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance obligations in patient support programs and other external initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: MBBS/MD (Life Sciences) from a recognized medical university.
- Strong experience in Diabetes Care or related therapy areas; exposure to the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Proven track record in developing and driving medical strategy for multiple brands.
- Clinical research and trial management experience, with the ability to engage with investigators and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and teaching skills; confident representing the organization at scientific and medical forums.
- Independent, proactive, and collaborative professional with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and innovative approach.
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable working across diverse teams and functions.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with pharmacovigilance and regulatory compliance practices.
- Understanding of the competitive landscape in the diabetes market.
Experience
- Significant experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector, particularly in Diabetes Care and medical affairs.
