Job Description: Head of Finance (Deputy CFO)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to join our team as a strategic partner, playing a pivotal role in building and leading the Business Finance function. This role is crucial for ensuring financial integrity, driving compliance, and supporting business growth. Operating like a Deputy CFO, the ideal candidate will bring a mix of Big 6 consultancy experience and client-side expertise, coupled with a proven ability to lead teams, implement robust financial controls, and drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Business Finance Function Development:
- Understand the unique dynamics of our business and identify critical financial metrics.
- Establish and maintain financial models, forecasts, and dashboards to aid decision-making.
- Provide insights into business performance and collaborate with key stakeholders to align financial strategies with business goals.

Controllership:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks, especially in a value-dense industry like jewellery.
- Design and implement controls to prevent system leakages and ensure robust financial governance.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory standards, including statutory audits and filings.

Financial Statement Preparation:
- Independently manage the timely preparation and closure of Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and Profit & Loss Accounts.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and adherence to accounting standards in financial reporting.

ERP/Software Proficiency:
- Leverage tools like Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar ERP systems to streamline accounting processes.
- Drive the implementation and optimization of financial software to enhance operational efficiency.

Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and upskill an inexperienced finance team to build a high-performing unit.
- Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging professional growth and accountability.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Company Secretary (CS) Qualification: (Preferred) Leverage expertise to support legal compliance and governance.
- Investor Relations: Build and manage relationships with investors, providing financial updates and ensuring transparency.
- VC and Venture Debt Exposure: Navigate funding processes and manage relationships with venture capitalists or debt providers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.
- 7-10 years of experience, including Big 6 consulting and client-side exposure.
- Strong understanding of financial metrics, risk assessment, and internal controls in high-value industries like jewellery.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and financial software (Tally, Zoho Books, SAP).
- Proven track record of leading and developing teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Exposure to investor relations, venture capital, or venture debt is a significant advantage.
Compensation:
- Target cash compensation of ₹30–40 LPA.
- ESOPs available (details to be discussed based on the candidate).
