Manager – Finance Controller

Job Summary

The Manager – Finance Controller will oversee financial planning, controlling, management reporting, and finance operations while maintaining robust financial controls. This high-visibility role reports directly to the CEO and requires collaboration across cross-functional teams, with significant ownership in controllership and business finance.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end controllership and financial operations, including daily accounting, vendor payments, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial metrics and reports, including Management Information System (MIS), Cash Flow Statements (CFS), and Budget vs. Actuals.
  • Implement systems for regular and periodic financial reporting, identify and investigate variances, recommend corrective actions, and track implementation.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support fundraising preparation through financial analysis, forecasting, financial modeling, and investor-ready reports.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry practices affecting financial operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, optimize costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to aid in strategic planning and decision-making related to business growth.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably in venture-funded SaaS or technology startups within a high-growth environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), cash flow management, compliance, audits, vendor payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience working with outsourced finance partners for accounting, Goods and Services Tax (GST), payroll, or related activities while maintaining ownership of finance operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (IND AS), financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to build scalable finance processes and drive operational efficiency in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Capability to collaborate with the CEO and cross-functional leadership teams, converting financial data into actionable business insights.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in fundraising processes and investor relations.
  • Familiarity with advanced financial modeling techniques.

Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of finance-related experience in a relevant setting, particularly within high-growth SaaS companies or technology startups.
