Job Summary

The Manager / Senior Manager role is integral to establishing a strong foothold in Bangalore, one of the key hubs for funded startups and CFOs in India. This individual will focus on both business development and operations, ensuring that not only new business is generated but also that client engagements are delivered with high quality. The position requires a versatile leader who can balance winning new work while overseeing the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Business Development (50% of time):

    • Build and manage a local pipeline including founders, CFOs, finance heads, and the startup/venture capital ecosystem in Bangalore.
    • Conduct discovery conversations, scope engagements, and develop proposals across various service lines.
    • Represent DoubleEntry at market events, within professional communities, and referral networks to promote the firm.
    • Collaborate with the Partner to convert leads into signed engagements.
  • Operations & Delivery (50% of time):

    • Ensure delivery quality for clients in Bangalore relating to finance operations, controllership, and advisory services.
    • Manage and mentor a team of associates and senior professionals; act as the escalation point for client issues.
    • Monitor engagement progress using internal tools (DE Pulse) to ensure adherence to SLAs, deliverables, and client health.
    • Facilitate communication between clients and the Hyderabad delivery teams to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Qualifications

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5-8 years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience: A blend of practice and industry experience in controllership, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), auditing, or finance operations is ideal.
  • Client Engagement: Proven comfort in leading discussions with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Indian accounting and compliance regulations; familiarity with US GAAP or international clients is a plus.
  • Technological Proficiency: Comfort with technology and automation, as the firm emphasizes an AI-forward approach.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-starter energy and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in an early-stage build environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in a start-up environment and a network in the startup or VC ecosystem in Bangalore.
  • Familiarity with finance operation tools and platforms.

Experience

  • 5-8 years of post-qualification experience as a Chartered Accountant, particularly with a blend of practice and industry exposure.
