Job Summary

The MEP Project Manager is responsible for managing the timely implementation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services and equipment for projects. This includes planning, designing, monitoring, and coordinating with Project Management Consultants and MEP services consultants to ensure successful project delivery that aligns with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Project Budget Tracking

    • Develop cost-effective plans for MEP services within budget.
    • Track spending against the allocated project budget and revise costs as necessary.
    • Optimize construction costs.
  • Project Planning

    • Provide inputs on MEP Services design to the Design team during the concept design stage.
    • Evaluate detailed design briefs from MEP service consultants to ensure compliance with design plans and statutory requirements.
    • Revise and finalize tenders prepared by the Services Consultant.
    • Prepare detailed project plans in coordination with project management consultants.
  • Selection of MEP Vendors

    • Collaborate with the Contracts team to float tenders and identify suitable vendors.
    • Conduct site evaluations to assess vendor performance and carry out comparative analyses on technical parameters.
  • Coordination with Consultants

    • Work with the Design team and MEP services consultants to secure approval for final drawings.
    • Resolve technical discrepancies between consultants and contractors.
    • Identify and resolve issues hampering project progress.
  • Project Tracking

    • Plan and monitor the MEP schedule in collaboration with Project Management Consultants.
    • Conduct regular review meetings to assess work progress and quality issues.
    • Track and monitor the progress of MEP plans in accordance with final drawings and work schedules.
  • Material Procurement Related to Interior Fittings

    • Coordinate with the Design team for sample approvals and ensure timely sourcing of materials.
  • MIS & Reporting

    • Prepare monthly project update reports.
    • Provide updates to Accounts and Sales teams for customer billing.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: A degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil) preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of MEP services and equipment.
    • Experience in project management and vendor selection.
    • Familiarity with project management software.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing MEP projects.

Environment

The typical work setting may include office environments with occasional site visits to construction locations. The role may require collaborating with various stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and consultants.
