Job Summary
The Techno Functional - Balance Sheet Manager will play a crucial role in managing balance sheet solutions within the banking and financial services domain. This position is expected to leverage extensive experience in Asset and Liability Management (ALM) and Liability Risk Management (LRM) systems to ensure effective implementation and management of balance sheet strategies that align with the organization’s financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage balance sheet manager solutions, ensuring successful integration within existing systems.
- Provide functional expertise in ALM, LRM, and relevant domains, including guidance on business rules and risk management processes.
- Facilitate data discovery, analysis, testing, and reconciliation activities related to on-balance and off-balance sheet data.
- Perform thorough data validation and traceability from various source systems to data marts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, define, and solve complex issues, conveying solutions clearly.
- Support the implementation of financial metrics and measurements to enhance risk management frameworks.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a relevant field.
- Certifications: Possession of a globally recognized financial certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is advantageous.
- Experience: 10+ years as a Functional Technical Data Analyst in the banking or financial services sector.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in querying tools such as SQL and reporting platforms, including Excel, Power BI, SAS EG, and Qlikview.
- Experienced in handling large data warehouses and employing ETL/ELT design and testing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of banking regulations, risk management frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with FIS and major balance sheet management solutions (e.g., OFSAA, QRM, Moodys).
- Understanding of financial instruments and risk metrics.
- Additional programming skills in Python or similar languages can be beneficial.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg and Reuters would be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in risk management and balance sheet management solution implementation within a banking environment.
