Lab Manager

Job Summary

The Lab Manager will oversee the operations of the Garage and Makerspace, ensuring the effective management of equipment, safety protocols, and community engagement. This role is crucial in fostering innovation and skill development, particularly in AI technologies, while aligning local initiatives with broader organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage all equipment and tooling in the Garage.
• Ensure safety, training, and documentation of best practices for equipment use.
• Oversee inventory and procurement processes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Garage site operations and programming.
• Lead planning and execution of site-wide events, hackathons, and innovation challenges.
• Champion the SkillUp AI initiative at the site level, helping employees build confidence and capability in AI and Agentic AI technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines).
• Strong understanding of equipment management and safety protocols.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Experience in event planning and community engagement.
• Familiarity with AI technologies and skilling initiatives.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a makerspace or innovation lab environment.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management.
• Previous experience in training or educational program development.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lab management, operations, or a related field.

• This position is based in Bangalore and requires in-office work. The work environment is dynamic, focusing on innovation and collaboration.

Salary

• Estimated salary range: ₹2,700,000 per annum.
