Job Summary

The role involves leading and mentoring a team of engineers focused on content ingestion, transformation, and distribution. The ideal candidate will contribute to process improvements and efficiency while fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers responsible for content ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
  • Contribute to process improvements and enhance efficiency within the team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement across the engineering team.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and plan for career development of team members.
  • Architect and design application systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with architects to define system architecture and oversee development of services.
  • Manage incident response, prioritization of Pending Test Requests (PTRs), and coordination across teams.
  • Align team objectives with organizational goals in hotel distribution and content strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Security Office to ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in software development, with at least 3 years in managerial roles.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Java (Object-Oriented Programming, REST APIs, Lambda, Stream API).
    • Experience with Couchbase for NoSQL content storage and caching.
    • Familiarity with Kafka for real-time data streaming and event-driven architecture.
    • Knowledge of Big Data platforms for large-scale job processing and analytics.
    • Experience with Oracle Database and MariaDB for structured data management.
    • Understanding of security concepts including PCI-DSS compliance and vulnerability management.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Proven experience in the hospitality or travel technology domain.
  • Strong background in architecting and designing large applications.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, particularly Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps, Spring Boot, UI technologies such as Angular, and C++.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, including cloud and conversational platforms.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in technical leadership or managerial roles.
